MARTI MORFITT, CO-FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
Marti brings a track record of industry leading business performance in the consumer packaged goods industry and is known for building exceptionally talented teams and company culture.
Marti is a founding partner of River Rock and leads the Strategy and Growth Planning practice areas. In addition to her leadership role at River Rock Partners, Marti recently served as CEO for one of our clients, Airborne Inc., the private equity owned maker of the dietary supplement designed to support immune health. In 2½ years, Marti and her team returned the brand to growth and profitability and created a strong growth pipeline. Airborne was sold in March 2012, resulting in 550% return on investment.
Previously, Marti was CEO of CNS Inc. (the Breathe Right Nasal Strip Company). Marti and her team succeeded in returning the company to profitability and transforming CNS into a growing consumer health care products company with an expanding product portfolio, a solid growth pipeline, and an amazing culture with great talent. CNS was sold to GlaxoSmithKline in December, 2006 resulting in exit multiples of 16x EBITDA and 4x Revenue.
Prior to joining CNS, Marti spent 16 years with The Pillsbury Company in a variety of senior management and marketing positions. Marti is a founding partner of River Rock and leads our Organization Planning and Acquisition Integration practice areas.
Marti currently serves on the board of directors of lululemon athletica Inc.; LifeTime Fitness Inc.;Graco Inc.; Shock Doctor, Inc.; and Minnesota Public Radio.
Kaye O’Leary, Partner
Kaye brings significant restaurant, retail, consumer products industry expertise and deep Strategic Planning, Finance, Business Development and Governance experience.
Prior to joining River Rock, Kaye was a founding partner at Tevera Consulting and helped build a successful boutique practice that served a broad portfolio of clients including Caribou Coffee, Redstone, Rockler Inc., Ryt-Way, MN Chamber of Commerce, Health Partners, and Shock Doctor Inc.
Kaye has served as internal or interim CFO of publicly traded and privately-held companies including Buca Inc, Caribou Coffee, Redstone Inc., Shock Doctor Inc. and OneLink Inc. She has held progressive Finance leadership roles at Carlson Companies, Accenture, A.H. Belo, Dannon Inc., Dun & Bradstreet and PepsiCo. Kaye serves on several Board of Directors and Strategic Advisory Boards including Western National insurance, St. Mary’s University, Ms. Dee Inc., PhaseNext Hospitality and Food for Hungry Minds.

Darran Spence is a senior level Finance Consultant who has served as CFO for two private equity-owned companies, Airborne, Inc. and The ADS Group. She has significant consumer products and food industry experience in finance leadership roles with General Mills, The Pillsbury Company and CNS, Inc. (The Breathe Right Company). Darran’s successes in private equity-owned fast growth organizations combined with her large company roots and perfect balance of strategic thinking and hands-on style make her a great fit for our growth orientated clients.
Chris Rud is an senior Organizational Development Consultant with 30 years (20 years as a consultant) experience in providing organization leadership, functional HR leadership, and business leadership to clients in multiple industries and varying situations (high growth, transformation/turnaround, reorganization, start-up). She has also held formal leadership positions with a global organization consulting firm and as VP of HR for a global high-tech manufacturing company. Chris is widely known for her transformational culture work and leadership and team development.
Don Himsl is an Information Technology executive level consultant specializing in both IT Architecture for growth oriented consumer products, retail and manufacturing organizations. Don has served as head of IT for CNS, Inc. and in IT leadership roles at Wilson Leather. Don is founder of Depth Charge Consulting and has partnered closely with River Rock for several years on process and technology infrastructure building for several of our clients. Don is both strategic and hands on during his leadership of major IT initiatives including ERP implementations, data warehouse development and future state IT architecture planning.
